Kathmandu — The latest seat distribution data from Nepal’s Federal Parliament election has sparked discussion about whether any party can reach the crucial two-thirds majority threshold in the House of Representatives.

According to the latest proportional and direct seat distribution figures, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) currently holds the largest number of seats in parliament. The party has secured 125 seats through direct elections and 57 seats through proportional representation, bringing its total to 182 seats.

Nepal’s House of Representatives has a total of 275 seats, meaning a party would need at least 184 seats to achieve a two-thirds majority. Based on the current distribution, RSP remains just short of that threshold.
